It all started...
In February 1999, Fred. Olsen Express made an important breakthrough when it announced a new route connecting Tenerife with El Hierro. With this new line, the company expanded its inter-island communications network, this time to the westernmost point of the archipelago. The ferry Bañaderos, which at that time operated between La Palma, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, was in charge of establishing the connection between the port of La Estaca in El Hierro and Tenerife.
New incorporations
Later, the slow vessels were replaced by modern fast ferries and with a balance of more than one million passengers transported, Fred. Olsen Express connected El Hierro for 15 years.
It's not goodbye, it's see you soon.
And although 2013 was the last year in which this maritime line operated, it always kept on its horizon to resume connections with the southernmost island of the Canary Islands. And so it happened!
Currently...
Now we are pleased to announce that, as of December 31, 2024, Fred. Olsen Express will resume operations between Tenerife and El Hierro.
